Masala Chai (Indian Tea)
Masala Chai is a beverage made from black tea, milk and a blend of spices to enhance the taste of the tea.

Ingredients
- Milk – 1¼ Mug
- Water – 1 Mug
- Sashi’s Chai Masala – ⅓ tsp
- Loose Tea or (2 Teabags) – 2 tsp
- Grated Fresh Ginger ½ tsp (optional)
- Sugar – 3 tsps (Optional - adjust to taste)
Cooking Method
- First add the water into a pan and set hob to medium to low heat
- Add the Loose Tea/Teabags into the pan alongside Sashi’s Chai Masala, ginger and sugar. On a medium heat let the mixture simmer (2 to 3 mins)
- As soon as the mixture starts to simmer, add the milk into the pan
- Now let the tea simmer on medium heat until it starts to bubble to the top. As the tea raises to the top of the pan, reduce heat. Once again, increase hob to medium heat and let the tea simmer to the top and reduce heat. Repeat process 3-4 times - You will see the colour of the tea changing to a deep orange colour
- Once the tea has been simmering for around 10mins, take a sieve and strain into 2 cups ready to drink
Points to Remember
- Ginger is optional
- Adjust level of Sashi’s Chai Masala according to taste
- Be Aware not to let the tea overflow over the pan
